WHAT “MoMA UNVEILED” MEANS

As a popular museum known for its exhibition of famous paintings from the modern era, MoMA endorses its ever-expanding collection of works from all over the world. In fact, as an organization, MoMA had proclaimed itself as a place for  “diverse cultural, artistic, social, and political positions”. MoMA Unveiled acknowledges that the importance of research relating to diversity and representation is rooted in its power to educate and hold those in charge accountable. Observing records provided by MoMA, this project aims to evaluate whether the works in the museum’s collection and those in their exhibitions are consistent with their promise of diversity.
